- About !HardApps
- =-------------=
-
- Hard apps was an idea borrowed from Acorn. In the new RISCPC, there is a
- directory on the hard drive called Apps. Basically, anything you put into it
- is placed into the ResourceFS inside the Apps directory so you can easilly
- get at it. Neat ?
-
- Yess, well what about all us poor people who can only afford A3010's (like
- me!) We haven't got RiscOS 3.5 (or a wopping big processor either!) which
- means we cannot do this. Nor, can we just copy acorns code, since it is ©.
-
- That's where !HardApps comes in. All you do is load it up, and it will do
- much the same! But on any computer with a HardDrive, and ResourceFS. Isn't
- that nice.
-
- Other Nice Xtras!
- =---------------=
-
- Now then with Acorns code, you don't seem to have the Ability to Rescan the
- directory, so you can remove anything from the Apps directory and it will
- still show up in the ResourceFS bit. Never mind Acorn!!! And, without saying,
- you can with !HardApps. Just load it up (Conveniently placed in the
- ResourceFS!) and click on Rescan ROMApps Directory, and it will!
-
- Also, it will put the apps into the ResourceFS on start up, just as long as
- you put it in your !Boot (done automatically during instalation, or it gives
- you a nice help file to help you do it manually).
-
- More help than you will every need. (And probably more than I will every
- write again!)
-
- A Nice Icon!
-
- {Not written on an Am*g*?}
-
- That'll do, I think!!
