  4. EasyBoard Venray is pleased to introduce FrontDoor APX, the premier
  5. electronic mail system for points.
  6.  
  7. FrontDoor APX (pronounced "APEX") is the first and only COMPLETE
  8. electronic mail and file transfer system specially designed for
  9. points, requiring no additional software, such as conference mail
  10. processors, compression software, FOSSIL drivers or external
  11. utilities and will operate in a minimum system environment of 400kb
  12. of diskspace and 384k of RAM.

  14. Electronic mail brings new dimensions of usefulness to the Personal
  15. Computer. With FrontDoor APX, it is easy to set up new paths of
  16. communications within an organization using equipment that in most
  17. cases is already present. Requiring no more than a laptop or a PC, a
  18. telephone line and a modem, FrontDoor APX transfers mail and files
  19. with a designated server. If the final destination is somewhere other
  20. than the designated server or another FrontDoor APX user not serviced
  21. by the same designated server, the message and files will be
  22. transferred to the recipient's designated server via your server.

  24. Many companies are using modems and ordinary terminal programs to
  25. transfer information. For example, a spreadsheet has to be
  26. transferred from a branch office to the main office several times a
  27. week. With ordinary terminal software, this requires two employees,
  28. one at each end to initiate the transfer. It often takes several
  29. failed attempts before the file goes through properly. In addition
  30. to the cost of having personnel supervising something that two
  31. machines should be able to accomplish on their own, it may also
  32. require hours of telephone time at unnecessarily high phone rates.

  34. In contrast, FrontDoor APX can accomplish the same task in a session
  35. that automatically dials the server and negotiates a session with
  36. multiple security check-points to ensure the protection of valuable
  37. information. It will then transfer the files, along with any
  38. messages, to the server using reliable file transfer protocols with
  39. advanced (32-bit CRC) error checking to guarantee data integrity.
  40. Waiting messages and files are received during the same session, and
  41. then FrontDoor APX automatically terminates the completed session.

  43. Reliable communication means that nothing is distorted or corrupted
  44. during the transfer, even across extremely poor line conditions. If a
  45. FAX were to be used to send a manuscript back and forth for repeated
  46. editing and revisions, it would very soon be completely illegible.
  47. With FrontDoor APX, the actual file can be sent back and forth an
  48. unlimited number of times without ever losing a single character. An
  49. added advantage is that the same software can be used to edit the
  50. document at both locations.

  64. FrontDoor. All transactions are with the server system, affording
  65. management control of all transfers. A network can be configured to
  66. include as little as a single FrontDoor Server and a single FrontDoor
  67. APX point, or it can include unlimited FrontDoor APX points operating
  68. under multiple FrontDoor Servers. FrontDoor APX and FrontDoor can
  69. meet your requirements, whatever they are.
