  1. PLANE allows you to define the desired construction plane.
  2. This option is also assigned an Immediate Mode command.
  3.  
  4. Define a new construction plane by choosing from the
  5. following options:
  6.  
  7. 3 PTS - to indicate three points on the screen. The
  8. positive direction for the x axis passes from the first
  9. point to the second point. The position of the third point
  10. relative to the other two points determines the direction
  11. of the y axis (and consequently the z axis).
  12.  
  13. PT/LINE- to select a point (or position) in space and the
  14. two endpoints of a selected line entity.
  15.  
  16. 2 LINES - to select the endpoints of two lines, and the 
  17. 3-D intersection (or potential 3-D intersection) of the 
  18. lines.
  19.  
  20. VPORT - to assign the plane associated with a particular
  21. viewport's view.
  22.  
  23. ENTITY - to  define a plane by selecting an existing 
  24. planar arc, conic, or 2-D spline entity.
  25.  
  26. KEY-IN - to define a plane by assigning a concatenated
  27. series of rotations.

  29. CP = DV - to automatically set the construction plane to 
  30. the display view assignments.
  31.  
  32. SAVE - to store the defined construction plane in the
  33. database. The next available number in the database is
  34. assigned to this new plane.
