- ENTITY lets you select entities that you want to change
- from instance-specific to layout-specific geometry.
-
- You must have an active instance to select entities for
- modelizing. If you try to select entities using this
- option and do not have an active instance, CADKEY displays
- an error message.
-
- Single select the entities in the instance that you want
- to change from instance-specific to layout-specific
- geometry.
-
- You can select entities from another instance if they are
- hard to select in the active instance, but CADKEY only
- modelizes the entities in the active instance.
-
- Press <Enter> when you finish selecting the entities.
- CADKEY asks whether it's okay to modelize;
- choose YES or NO.
-
- Nothing appears to change, but CADKEY changes the
- instance-specific geometry to layout-specific geometry in
- the active instance. CADKEY does this by creating an exact
- copy of the entity as it appears in the drawing instance
- and blanking the original instance-specific geometry.
-
- If you want to make sure that CADKEY modelized the entity,
- choose DETAIL, LAYOUT, SET, SHOWINST. If CADKEY does not
- highlight the entity, it's layout-specific geometry. That
- is, CADKEY modelized the entity correctly.
-
- If you try to move an instance after modelizing an entity
- within the instance, the entire instance relocates, but
- the layout-specific geometry does not move with it.
-
- ENTITY is the only option in the MODELIZE menu that lets
- you change layout-specific geometry back to instance-
- specific geometry if you make a mistake. To do so, first
- delete the layout-specific entity using DELETE or
- (Ctrl)-(Q), and then use the UNBLANK option to redisplay
- the instance-specific entity.
