- CADKEY's Drawing Layout Mode is the CADKEY system mode
- that you enter when you finish creating a part in Model
- Mode and want to detail and position different views, or
- drawing instances, of the part in a two-dimensional layout
- format.
-
- This means that you can place several two-dimensional
- views of a three-dimensional part in one viewport without
- having to create and place separate pattern files of each
- view.
-
- You know that you're in Drawing Layout Mode when the word
- "LAYOUT" appears in inverse video in the System Mode Area
- of the screen and you see the LAYOUT menu in the Menu
- Options Window.
-
- You also see a rectangular, dashed paper boundary
- surrounding the layout area. Its boundaries match the
- height and width of the paper size that you define when
- you create the layout. CADKEY uses the boundary as a
- guide, but does not print or plot it. If you position a
- drawing instance so that it overlaps the boundary, your
- will not be able to print or plot correctly.
-
- LOAD - lets you create a new layout or activate an
- existing layout.
-
- MODIFY - lets you change a layout's name, description,
- drawing scale, and paper size.
-
- DELETE - lets you delete any drawing layout belonging to
- the current part file.
-
- COPY - lets you make a copy of any of your drawing
- layouts.
-
- INSTANCE - allows you to add new instance views to your
- layout, make various changes to instances,
- align instances, and choose a new active
- instance.
-
- MODELIZE - converts instance-specific entities to layout-
- specific entities so that you can edit and
- enhance them in the drawing layout without
- having to return to the Drawing Layout Mode to
- alter the original part file.
-
- SET - allows you to turn the paper border on and off
- and also allows you to highlight various
- geometry and dimensions on the layout.
-
- EXIT - lets you to exit Drawing Layout Mode and return
- to Model Mode.
