  1. MODAL allows you to break multiple entities (excluding
  2. circles) into two separate entities, and assigns the 
  3. current attribute values based on an intersection with a
  4. common entity.
  5.  
  6. Select the entity that intersects the entities to be 
  7. broken. All entities selected hereafter are broken at the
  8. intersections with this entity.

  10. Select the entity to be broken, on the side of the
  11. intersection point that is to keep its original attribute
  12. settings.

  14. The selected entity is redrawn as two entities. The
  15. first portion (the side selected with the cursor) is 
  16. redrawn with the original attributes as far as the 
  17. intersection point. The second portion is created as a 
  18. separate entity, and it is assigned the current attribute 
  19. settings.

  21. Continue to select entities to be broken, using the break
  22. entity that was first selected.
