- RULED allows you to create a polygon mesh that
- approximates the surface that is formed by simultaneously
- moving a line (generator) along two director curves.
-
- Choose either a three-sided or four-sided polygon from the
- displayed menu. A three-sided polygon mesh allows for
- easier shading, a four-sided polygon mesh is a more
- precise mesh.
-
- Create the mesh by choosing from the following options:
-
- NUMSEGS - to divide the selected curves into a specific
- number of equal-length segments.
-
- ARCLNTH - to divide the selected curves into segments of a
- specific length, with the last segment being of length
- equal to, or less than, the specified length.
-
- A temporary mesh is displayed. Choose NO from the menu
- displayed if the curves are not connected correctly or if
- you choose not to create lines in the cross-direction.
- Choose YES if they are connected correctly or if you
- choose to create lines in the cross-direction.
-
- The NUMSEGS/ARCLNTH menu is displayed again.
-
- Use the same procedure to create the cross-direction mesh.
-
- Indicate whether to group the entities. Choose NO to
- continue without grouping. Choose YES to create a group,
- and enter a group name.
-
- The mesh is created.
