  1. TAN TAN allows you to create a line tangent to two 
  2. selected entities. One entity can be a point; however,
  3. selecting two points for this option causes an error
  4. message to be displayed.

  6. Select the first entity, near the point of tangency.
  7. Select the second entity, near the point of tangency.
  8.  
  9. An error message is displayed if you are constructing in 
  10. 3-D and the entities you select are not coplanar. You are
  11. prompted to press <Enter> and to select the first entity.

  13. If the tangency points of the two entities are coincident
  14. and the L-LIMIT switch is set to FUNCTN, an error message 
  15. is displayed indicating that the current settings and 
  16. selections result in a zero-length line. If this message 
  17. is displayed, change the line limits and press <Enter>, or
  18. reselect the desired entities.

  20. With the L-LIMIT switch set to VIEWPORT, the tangent line
  21. passes through the tangency points, and extends to the
  22. screen limits.
