  1. SAVE                                                       Menu: FILES / SOLID

  3. Saves a copy of the current geometric model in a specified file or saves a 2D
  4. projection of the solid model.
  5. (Applicable in both geometric and solid modules.)

  7.          1. (CHAR) file name to save (1-8 char.), <ENTER>-dialog box
  8.          2. (Y/N) wish to save image of file ?

  10. Description
  11. This command works in two ways, depending on the module that you are currently
  12. working in.
  13.  
  14. In the geometric module:The current model is saved by creating a duplicate
  15. file and giving it a specified name.
  16.  
  17. In the solid module:A two-dimensional projection of the current view of the
  18. solid model is saved.  Original layers of the entities are maintained in this
  19. projection.

  21. In the DSG module: Operates as in the geometric module but the file name must
  22. be prefixed by D$.

  24. In the geometric module, enter a name for the file to save, or press ENTER to
  25. select from a dialog box.
  26.  
  27. Specify if you want to save an image of the file.  This bitmap view will be
  28. displayed in a dialog box for the current model when you load or save the
  29. file.

  31. If you pressed ENTER, a dialog box listing all the models in the current
  32. directory appears:

  34. When you highlight a file name in the model list, it appears with its
  35. directory path in the file line.

  37. The following buttons are available in the dialog box:

  39. Button   Operation
  40. OK       Save the model using the name and path in the file line
  41. CANCEL   Exit the dialog box without execution
  42. RESET    Cancel any changes and reset the initial path
  43.  
  44. To save the current model:
  45. Type a name and path in the current file and directory line and select OK
  46. or
  47. Place the cursor on a model name in the list to save to and select OK
  48. or
  49. Place the cursor on a model name in the list to save to and double click using
  50. B1 of the mouse

  52. If the name exists and you want to overwrite it, change the `NO' in the
  53. overwrite box to `YES' by clicking on it.

  55. To display a list of files in a directory, double click on the directory name
  56. in the model box.

  58. To return to a higher directory level, double click on ".." in the directory
  59. box.

  61. Since there are eight lines in the model and directory box, if there are more
  62. than eight items in the box the scroll bar will appear in order to scroll the
  63. list.  To scroll by one line, click on the arrow at the top or bottom of the
  64. scroll bar.

  66. The command also compresses the file (see command \comp).

  68. To enter a description for file, click on the description box, type a
  69. description of up to 50 characters and press ENTER.

  71. In the solid module, specify the file name for the 2D projection of the
  72. current view.  This projection is saved on the xy plane irrespective of the
  73. current view.
