- Description
-
- This command enables you to edit the graphic library of objects. First
- specify if you intend to operate on openings, 2D objects, or 3D objects.
- Specify the name of the library in which the object or opening is to be
- included. If the name does not exist, you have the option to create a new
- library.
-
- Option `a' add objects to library
-
- This option allows you to add a new object to your library. It does not
- display the library, thus saving time. You may also add a new object from
- within the command (see the ADD option) which displays the library. You may
- add the object using one of three methods:
-
- Option `c' add the current data file to your library.
-
- Option `f' add any drawing to the library. For this option, specify the name
- of the file to add (the system checks its existence).
-
- Option `s' add a selection group from your current file; simply specify a name
- for the the new object.
-
- If you are adding openings to the library, you will be asked if they are
- stretchable and if so, in two directions (proportionally) or only along the
- wall.
-
- You may then add up to 40 characters of text to describe your object (this
- description will appear within the object square when displaying your graphic
- library). For no description, press <ENTER>. You are then asked if you wish
- to add more objects to your library.
-
- NOTE: In this option, there is no display of the library.
-
- Option `e' edit the library
-
- When you select this option, the library is displayed, offering you six
- operating options (five if you are working on a 3D library):
-
- ALL ADD
- SAVE EXTRACT (for 2D and opening libraries only)
- QUIT DELETE
-
- The library objects appear on the screen surrounded by a square frame, while
- the color of the frame symbolizes the object status: green is an active
- object, and red is a currently non-active object (will not appear when calling
- the graphic library using the pull-down menus).
-
- NOTE: If an object is bad, empty or missing, its frame will appear with a `?'
- inside and it will be marked in the color for deletion.
-
- The options appear in the lower left area of the screen. Indicate either
- within an object square, or on an option.
-
- The ALL option allows you to act in one of three ways: `s' set all objects to
- be selected, `d' set all objects to be deselected, or `r' reverse the current
- status of selection.
-
- After each option, use the SAVE or QUIT option in order to save or abandon any
- changes to your library.
-
- The SAVE option asks for confirmation to save the objects' selection status as
- defined on screen.
-
- The QUIT option asks for confirmation to quit without changing anything on the
- original loaded library.
-
- The ADD option asks for an object file name to add to your library, the same
- way as described in option `a' above. If the specified name already exists in
- the library you will be warned and asked whether you wish to overwrite it.
- The system allows you to add up to 40 characters of description/comments for
- the object in the on-line graphic library. For no description, press <ENTER>.
- The system asks for additional objects to add. If `y' is replied, the above
- set of prompts will be repeated. If `n' is replied, the system will redraw
- the updated library.
-
- Library object comments may be updated or inserted later using the \edcom
- command.
-
- When creating a library of 2D elements the system copies all the elements into
- a single file (as a single polygon) from which the entities are called when
- you require them. The original files may be erased (although it is
- recommended to keep a backup of them on diskette). This is not the case with
- 3D entities. The library calls such entities directly from the original
- entity files.
-
- NOTE 1: Each 2D entity becomes a single (symbol) polygon. You may explode the
- 2D library entity using the \expol command.
- NOTE 2: For 2D library entities consisting of 2 or 3D entities in space, the
- entities are moved to z=0; 3D arcs will be moved so that one end is at z=0.
-
- The EXTRACT option is applicable, therefore, only to 2D and opening libraries
- as it extracts objects to individual files. You are prompted to indicate and
- confirm the square containing the object to be extracted. If confirmed, the
- frame will change to a broken line, and the system will ask for additional
- objects to extract. If you reply `y' the system will repeat the above set of
- prompts. If `n' is replied, you will be able to select SAVE or QUIT to keep
- or ignore all changes.
-
- When you exit via the SAVE option when extracting a file, and the name you
- have specified already exists, you will be informed and given the opportunity
- to assign another name.
-
- The DELETE option allows you to remove an object from the library. You are
- prompted to indicate and confirm the square of the object to be deleted. If
- confirmed, the square's color will change to yellow, and the system will ask
- for additional objects to delete. If `y' is replied, the system will repeat
- the above set of prompts. If `n' is replied, the system will ask if you want
- to extract the files to be to be deleted from the library. You may select
- those squares, confirm, and the system will then change the square's frame to
- a dashed yellow line and will ask for additional files to be extracted as well
- as deleted. If `y' is replied, the above set of prompts will be repeated. If
- `n' is replied, you may select SAVE or QUIT to keep or ignore the changes
- respectively. When you save the library, the objects selected for deletion
- will be deleted and will not appear the next time you enter this command.
-
- NOTE: When a wall is deleted from the wall library or an opening is deleted
- from the general opening library, all combinations that use these entities
- will be deleted from the combination library and the library will be
- compressed.
-
- Option `p' plot the library
-
- This option enables you to create a plot file from your current library, in
- order to produce a hard copy. You are asked to confirm the creation of the
- plot file from your library. If confirmed, enter a name for the plot file of
- up to 8 characters.
-
- NOTE: The screen display during this command is an ordinary drawing file
- created by the system. It is named $O$LIB (.III and .DDD). You may use
- nested commands such as \zoom,\zout and \shift, etc. This is a temporary file
- and will be erased when you leave the system. You should always leave this
- command via the SAVE or QUIT options. If, by mistake, you use a non-nested
- command and find that you cannot exit the command, use the \rslib command.
