- Description
- This command places and clips a drawing on the drawing sheet. The drawing is
- scaled at a specified scale.
-
- If the drawing from which you wish to clip does not exist on the screen, you
- must place it using the command \dpaut or \dpscl. The drawing may be placed
- anywhere on the screen, i.e., within or outside the drawing sheet frame. If
- you only wish to clip from the drawing but not include it in its entirety,
- place it outside the plotting area, or erase it before sending the drawing
- sheet to the plotter.
-
- There are two methods to place and clip a drawing on the drawing sheet:
- 1. Define a target frame followed by a source frame.
- 2. Define a source frame followed by a target frame.
-
- Specify which frame (source or target) you wish to define first.
-
- Source Frame
-
- If you select to define the source frame first, specify the first and opposite
- points of the frame on the placed drawing to be clipped. If you regret the
- position of the first point specified for a frame, press <ENTER> before
- specifying the opposite point. This will allow you to relocate the first
- point. Then specify the desired scale. If you want the same scale as the
- source, press <ENTER>.
-
- A rectangle representing the part of the drawing included in the source frame,
- at the specified scale appears attached to the cursor. Use the cursor to
- specify the location of the drawing on the drawing sheet. While you do this
- the source frame will blink. If you find that the size of the rectangle is
- unsatisfactory you may press <ENTER> to specify a new scale.
-
- In order to help you place the drawing you may change the "origin" of the
- frame. The "origin" is the point at which the rectangle is attached to the
- cursor, i.e. the relationship of the drawing to the cursor. If you press
- <Alt>+2 the position of the rectangle in relation to the cursor will change.
- There are six possible locations:
-
- 1 - lower-left corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 2 - origin (0 0 0) of the drawing as saved
- 3 - center point of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 4 - upper-left corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 5 - upper-right corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
- 6 - lower-right corner of minimum enclosing rectangle
-
- The drawing will appear at the specified location at the specified scale
- enclosed by a green broken-lined rectangle.
-
- You may continue to clip further drawings until you select another command.
-
- Target Frame
-
- If you select to define the target frame first, specify the first and opposite
- points of the frame on the drawing sheet. If you regret the position of the
- first point specified for a frame, press <ENTER> before specifying the
- opposite point. This will allow you to relocate the first point. Indicate
- and confirm the frame of the drawing from which you intend to clip the
- drawing. Then specify the desired scale. If you want the same scale as the
- source, press <ENTER>.
-
- A rectangle representing the target frame at the scale of the indicated source
- drawing appears attached to the cursor. Use the cursor to specify the area of
- the source drawing to be included in the target frame. While you do this the
- target frame will blink. If you find that the size of the rectangle is
- unsatisfactory, you may press <ENTER> to specify a new scale.
-
- The part of the source drawing enclosed by the rectangle on the cursor will
- appear within the target frame at the specified scale enclosed by a green
- broken-line.
-
- In order to help you place the drawing you may change the "origin" of the
