- AUTO Menu: SCRN / SOLID
- ================================================================================
- Activates the automatic scaling mode, and displays the entire model.
- (A nested command in the geometric module only.)
- (Applicable in both geometric and solid modules.)
-
- Description
- This command activates the automatic scaling mode. When the automatic scaling
- mode is active the entire model is scaled to fill the screen. Each subsequent
- refresh operation will readjust the scale to accommodate new additions to the
- model. After executing \auto, the system returns to the previous command.
-
- The letter `A'(automatic) or `F'(fixed) at the top of the screen indicates
- the currently active mode.
-
- Reference points of instances (placed objects) will always be within the
- screen limits, but parts of such objects may be outside the screen display.
- In such cases, it is recommended to draw a rectangle in order to mark the
- whole area of the model so that when \auto is activated, the rectangle and all
- the entities and objects therein will be displayed on the screen.
-
- If you are currently in automatic scaling mode in the geometric module, or in
- any of the display modes set by the \dsmod command in the solid module, the
- screen will be redrawn in the appropriate display mode. If you are in the
- solid module and the display mode is currently "off", the new view will not be
- displayed until a new display is specified, enabling you to execute a series
- of manipulations before the screen is redrawn.
-
- NOTE 1: To activate fixed scaling mode, use the \nauto command.
- NOTE 2: This command may be used in batch files. The automatic scaling mode
- can be toggled to fixed through the keyboard using <Alt> + a (instead of using
- this command).
