- Description
-
- This command sets the allowed ranges and the default values of the parameters
- used for stairs created using the \strcs command.
-
- The ranges are set so that when the system calculates a new staircase it
- checks that the resultant parameters fall within the specified range only.
-
- The parameters and default values for which the ranges are set are:
-
- Parameter Description
-
- All stairs:
- 1 - 2H+B The globally accepted formula.
- 2 - Rise Height of an individual step.
- 3 - Tread Width of individual step.
- 4 - No of stairs The number of stairs in an individual flight.
- in flight
- 5 - Layer no. The layer number within which the
- for stairs stairs are going to be placed in the system.
- 6 - Color of The color of the stairs.
- stair flight
- 7 - Thickness The thickness of the handrail (square section)
- of handrail
- 8 - Height of handrail The height of the handrail from the nose of the step
- to the upper surface of the handrail irrespective of
- the thickness of the handrail.
-
- 9 - Distance of The distance from the center of the handrail to the
- handrail from outer edge of the stair
- edge of stair 0 = on the edge of step
- - ve value = beyond edge of step
- +ve value = toward inside of step
-
- NOTE: No adjustment is made to the handrail at the corners (to lengthen or
- shorten them). If the distance is negative, the handrail is beyond the edge
- of the step and the balusters will not be in contact with the step.
-
- 10- Color of handrail The color of the handrail.
- 11- No. of steps The number of wedge shaped steps for the turn in the
- in winding part staircase when the staircase is not to have a
- rectangular landing but is going to continue climbing
- while the staircase changes direction.
- Applicable to spiral stairs only:
- 12- Headroom The height from the floor or the nose of the stair to
- the underside of the step directly above.
- 13 - Angle for The horizontal angle from the first step to the point
- measuring which the headroom is to be measured.
- headroom
- 14 - Minimum width of The minimum width of a wedge shaped stair
- spiral step on (internal side of stair).
- narrow side
-
- Default ranges exist for each parameter. When the parameters and the current
- values are displayed, press ENTER to accept the current value or type the new
- value(s) and press ENTER to change the value.
-
- The new values are saved in a file called STAIRS.ARC and will be used as
- defaults for the current working directory. Different sets of values may be
- saved in separate directories for different projects.
-
- NOTE 1: Do not exit the command in the middle by starting a new command as the
- new values will not be saved. If you want to save the new values but exit in
- the middle of the command, type `0' as the new value for the current parameter
- and press ENTER, except in prompt 9 (distance of handrail) where 0 is a valid
- parameter value.
