  1. CIRCLE/ARC MANIPULATIONS

  4. Circles/arcs may be generated by various options. If ARC manipula-
  5. tions are to be specified, the ARC option must be selected before
  6. selecting another secondary option (e.g. CIRCLE ARC OPT).
  7.  
  8. The following secondary selections are allowed:-
  9.  
  10.     OPT:-     POLYGON allows users to specify regular incribed or 
  11.                       circumscribing polygons.
  12.               SEGMENT allows users to insert additional points onto arcs
  13.                       or circles with or without connecting lines.
  14.     ADD:-     Circles/arcs are added according to the option selected.
  15.               The graphical tertiary menu will be displayed. Many 
  16.               options are allowed. These are:-
  17.                   CIRCLES                    ARCS
  18.               Centre Pt + Rad (Default)   Centre Pt + Angle (Default)
  19.               Centre Pt + Pt              2 Pts + Radius
  20.               2 Pts as Diameter           3 Pts
  21.               3 Pts                       Centre + Tangent line + Ang
  22.               2 Pts + Radius              Tangent point to Pt
  23.               Centre + Tangent line       Tangent pt + Rad + Ang
  24.               Tangent Pt + Radius         Tangent pt + Tangent line
  25.               Tangent Pt + Tangent        2 Tangent lines + Radius
  26.               2 Tangent lines + Radius    Semi-circle from 2 Pts
  27.               3 Tangent lines             2 Pts and Centre
  28.               
  29.               With some of these options, an indicator point would be 
  30.               required for the program to decide on the circle/arc 
  31.               orientation.

  33.               If the Circles to 3 Tangent Lines Option is selected with
  34.               the LEFT BUTTON, QikDraw will allow the user to
  35.               insert circles tangent to any combination of 3 entities
  36.               including Lines, Circles, and Points.
  37.  
  38.     DELETE:-  Circles/arcs are deleted by locating the cursor near to
  39.               the circumference of the circle/arc.
  40.               If option selected with the LEFT button, the user will be  
  41.               able to delete circles in reverse order of storage.
  42.     TRANS:-   Transforms the CIRCLE/ARC into POINTS, LINES and PLANES.
  43.               Useful in generating regular polygons.
  44.               Or else transform Circle into Arc or vice versa. The Arc
  45.               is always defined anti-clockwise. A full circle is formed
  46.               if the start and end points of the arc is the same.
  47.     STYLE:-   Circles/Arcs can have line styles as with lines.
  48.     CHANGE:-  Circle/Arc specifications (pen, thickness, style,side)
  49.               can be altered to be those currently active by 
  50.               selecting this option and then locating the arc.
  51.               Alternate selection allows for the change of PEN NUMBER
  52.               only, or line style and thickness only. This selection
  53.               also allows for changes in GLOBAL mode.
  54.     PEN:-     Specify pen number and line thickness as for lines.
  55.     SIDE:-    Circles/Arcs are defined as a number (default 32) of
  56.               straight line segments. This number may be redefined by 
  57.               the user to, say, define regular polygons.
  58.     BREAK:-   Break up circles/arcs/ellipses into segments. Points to
  59.               define the extremities of the segments must lie on the 
  60.               circle. 
  61.               Alternate selection allows for blanking out of part of
  62.               a circle/arc/ellipse. Location points does not have to
  63.               lie on the circle. Intersections will be generated.
  64.     ELLIP:-   Ellipses can be generated by defining the centre and a
  65.               point on the major axis, or by defining the major axis.
  66.               After generation, ellipses are treated just like circles.
  67.               Elliptical arcs can be generated by modifying the full
  68.               ellipse.
  69.     CEN-L:-   This option allows a pair of lines to be automatically
  70.               generated at the centre of circle/arc.
