  1. Master Investor (MI) Version 3.01 for Windows is a Portfolio 
  2. Management and Technical Analysis program for individual investors, 
  3. financial advisors and money managers.  
  4.  
  5. MI includes comprehensive portfolio management for up to 1000 
  6. portfolios of stocks, bonds, options, mutual funds, cash accounts, other 
  7. assets and liabilities.  MI's 20+ reports provide complete tracking of 
  8. security transactions, capital gains, unrealized gains, interest, 
  9. dividends, reinvestments, net worth, asset allocation, etc.  The custom 
  10. report generator allows creation of reports based any one or more 
  11. portfolios.  The ability to combine portfolios, such as all retirement 
  12. (IRA, 401K, pension, etc.) portfolios, allows users to maintain the 
  13. detailed records needed for tax purposes without loosing sight of the 
  14. bottom line.

  16. MI includes extensive charting capabilities for performing technical 
  17. analysis.  Users can create price/volume charts with moving averages, 
  18. stochastics, on-balance volume, relative strength index, MACD, trend 
  19. analysis, ratio cantor and correlation analysis.  Other analyses include 
  20. asset allocation, return-on-investment, return-on-value, portfolio IRR, 
  21. and much more.

  23. Charts and portfolios are easily updated.  Simply download 
  24. price/volume data from a data provider and import the file to 
  25. automatically update every chart and report.  MI can import quotes 
  26. from over a dozen popular data sources including Yahoo, 
  27. CompuServe, AOL and Prodigy.  MI also supports user defined import 
  28. formats so new quote sources can easily be added.  Unlike other 
  29. programs, MI doesn't lock users into a single data provider.

  31. New in this version: 
  32. 1.    Support for 1997 changes to the United States capital gains tax 
  33.     law was added allowing classification of capital gains into three 
  34.     holding periods for long, mid and short term capital gains.  
  35. 2.    An option to select a default portfolio was added.  When a 
  36.     default portfolio is selected, all new securities transactions are 
  37.     automatically assigned to the default portfolio so that the user 
  38.     does not need to select the portfolio for each transaction.  The 
  39.     automatic assignment can be overridden by selecting a different 
  40.     portfolio on the transaction screen.
  41. 3.    Full support was added for writing (short selling) covered or 
  42.     naked call options.
