The QuickBase client-server database provides advanced features and graphically based utilities which make it easy to build database applications. Along with support for the latest in object-oriented tools, including Enterprise Objects Framework, QuickBase features transaction processing, derived columns, application notification, "index training," dynamic SQL, and schema-design programs.

  4. QuickBase "index training" provides automatic performance tuning based on use.  Servers build optimal indexes on the fly, eliminating the need for guesswork by application designers.  Index training works in the background and does not obstruct the multi-threaded processing of user requests.

QuickBase has been redesigned to support large NEXTSTEP installations and large databases.  The new version also supports KANJI and other 16 bit character sets, as well as customizable sorting for all international languages.  Huge money values are supported, which accepts values up to $92,233,720,368, 547,760.00 in any currency.

  8. QuickBase is available on all NEXTSTEP platforms and will be available on OPENSTEP.

  12.     o ftp the README.rtfd.tar and untar it.
  13.     o ftp the QBInstaller.app.tar program.
  14.     o Untar it using the File Viewer untar otption
  15.     o Run the QBInstaller.app program.
  16.     o Press the install button.
