which were posted to the following newsgroups:

On the CD-ROM the articles are differently sorted than on the archive itself.
Articles are sorted by year then by newsgroup and again by threads. For your
convenience we created bookshelfs which you can use with Librarian right out
of the box, which means: insert the CD-ROM containing the news and double
click on any Bookshelf you like to use.
Bookshelfs are prepared for different search queries for best performance.
You can choose between:
All News.bshlf -- all Usenet postings.
19xx.bshlf -- all articles of a year
<Group>.bshlf -- all postings concerning a certain group.
Don't try to copy the news from CD to disk. Performance is good enough from
CD-ROM and on the other hand it would take hours(!) to copy, because there
are more than 80.000 files, which require a lot of time to be created on disk. Please use the file 'Usenet.tgz' in the Usenet drawer for CD to HD copy and
decrunch it to your preferred destination (which still requires a lot of time
but is significantly faster than doing a file to file copy from CD-ROM).
