  4. The Peanuts archive has the following top-level directories.

  6.     00INFO          informational files: description of Peanuts, file
  7.                     listings and copying policy     (only FTP archive)
  8.  
  9.     1,2 and 0       directories with symbolic links to all files in
  10.                     the archive not older than one week, two weeks or
  11.             than the date the last volume of the PAD CD-ROM 
  12.              was published. (only FTP archive)
  13.  
  14.     CDROM           Information about a CD-ROM set. Basic applications.
  15.                     All READMEs of the files. FAQs, Legal information
  16.                     and the NoSD project. (only CD-ROM set)           
  17.  
  18.     Audio           audio (samples) and music (music descriptions like
  19.                     score or midi files) applications and programs
  20.  
  21.     Commercial      demo versions of commercial applications and programs. 
  22.                     No shareware (splitted on CD-ROM set)
  23.  
  24.     Communication   applications and programs for serial/classic 
  25.                     communication.
  26.  
  27.     Database        database servers and applications
  28.  
  29.     Developer       help in developing Unix programs and NeXTStep 
  30.                     applications (tools, classes, demo sources...)
  31.  
  32.     Documents       all sort of documents, references and text-files 
  33.  
  34.     Fonts           font collections and applications/programs for
  35.                     font manipulation
  36.  
  37.     Games           Life Is Hard And Then You Die.

  73. Of course all these directories are splitted over several CD-ROMs if you
  74. have the CD-ROM set. However a single top level directory is never splitted
  75. over several CDs (with the exception of 'Commercial').

  77. Each of these toplevel directories will contain several subdirectories. Some
  78. of these subdirectories are common:

  80.     apps            NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP applications
  81.     programms       Unix programs (which means: no GUI for NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP)
  82.                     (FTP archive only. On CDROM all these files are only
  83.                     in the Unix directory)
  84.     commercial      demo applications and programs.
  85.                     (FTP archive only. On CDROM see the Commercial directory)
  86.     filter          filter services for the NEXTSTEP workspace    
  87.     inspectors      inspectors for the NEXTSTEP workspace
  88.     library         data files like images, sounds, pictures, movies ...    
  89.     preferences     perference modules for the NeXTSTEP "Preferences" 
  90.                     application
  91.     services        services for the NEXTSTEP workspace
  92.     bundles         extension for certain applications
