When Empire Sports Network began its search for a weekend anchor to co-host the “Empire Sports Report,” the regional sports network set out to find an experienced broadcaster with proven journalistic skills. The organization had to look no further than anchor/reporter Bremante Bryant.
Combining a decade of on-air television experience with years of research, writing and in-depth reporting, Bryant was the only logical choice. As co-anchor for the network’s 6:00 p.m. weekend edition of the “Empire Sports Report” he is afforded the opportunity to use all of those skills. In addition, he provides a capable host for the network’s popular “Inside the Orange” show.
In his brief stint with the network to date, Bryant has been a major contributor to the network’s extensive coverage of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, the American Hockey League’s Calder Cup playoffs, Rochester Raging Rhinos soccer, International League baseball, Syracuse University athletics and numerous regional sports favorites.
Before joining the Empire Sports crew, Bryant worked as a freelance sports reporter for FOX Sports Net Chicago covering “The Windy City” sports teams and other topics for “The Gameroom” pre-game show. Prior to his work in the Mid West, Bryant gained experience working as an anchor and reporter for a handful of stations along the Atlantic coast. As a sports anchor for SportsChannel New York, he hosted and wrote close to 300 studio pre-game and 30-minute recap shows, and while with the New Jersey Network Bryant reported and edited field packages for the nightly sportscast.
A graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and native of Maryland, Bryant began his career close to home working for WUSA-TV as a reporter-trainee in July 1988.
Bremante is active in a handful of professional memberships including the American Sportscasters Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists.
