Brian Blessing serves as co-host for Empire Sports Network’s “Hockey Hotline”, a live Buffalo Sabres post-game call-in show. Blessing helps provide immediate post-game analysis and assists in creating a forum for lively exchange between co-host Mike Robitaille and the audience.
Blessing has also served as a guest host on the regional sports network for Paul Maguire on the “Budweiser Sportsline” program. Blessing has interviewed athletes and administrators from the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, Bisons, Blizzard and Bandits, as well as top amateur athletes from around Western New York.
As Director of Television and Public Relations for Fort Erie Racetrack the past four years, Blessing co-hosts and serves as executive producer of “Fort Erie Photo Finish,” a nightly recap of the day’s racing action. “Fort Erie Photo Finish” is on Empire Sports Network Saturday through Tuesday at midnight during race season. Blessing has worked on increasing the track’s North American simulcasting signal sales more than 200% over the past year.
Prior to his present positions, Blessing spent 14 years as Sports Anchor/Reporter for WIVB-TV in Buffalo, New York where he was heavily involved in the coverage of all sports in the region.
Before establishing his home in Western New York, Blessing was Sports Director for WDAV-TV in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and held a similar position at WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pa.
Blessing received his communications degree from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf.
