  1.    Welcome to TrapFax 1.1!

  3.    Welcome to the world of electronic faxing.  With TrapFax, you
  4. can send faxes conveniently from your computer, directly from your
  5. favourite word processor, your graphics paint program and your
  6. desktop publishing software. You can receive your faxes with your
  7. Amiga, view them on screen and print them out on your own printer.
  8. Electronic faxing is easy. TrapFax is your gateway into this new
  9. and exciting world.

  11.    We would like to take this opportunity to thank a few people,
  12. who helped us along on the way to this release version.  First,
  13. thanks go to our beta crew, with special thanks to: Roger Nordin,

  26.    Now, that was the greetings section, back to business.  As
  27. always, especially with first public release versions, a few
  28. errors and ommissions sneaked into the printed manual.  Here is
  29. where we describe the changes and amendments between the manual
  30. and the software on the disk.  Please read the following paragraphs
  31. carefully and maybe even print them out so you can store them along
  32. with your manual.

  34. 1. The manual does not describe how to stop TFaxDoor again once
  35.    you have started it.  Simply double-click the TFaxAnswer icon
  36.    again.  The screen will flash as soon as the running copy of
  37.    TFaxDoor quits.
  38.  
  39. 2. The manual mentions that you can double-click on TFaxSpool
  40.    if it is already running.  Unless when the quiet option was
  41.    specified, a requester will be opened asking you whether you
  42.    wish to stop the running copy.  Click on the button labelled
  43.    "Yes" to stop TFaxSpool.  As with TFaxDoor, the screen will
  44.    flash when TFaxSpool actually terminates (which may be a bit
  45.    later).

  47. 3. The pictures and descriptions in the German manual show the
  48.    German localization of the software.  This is only available
  49.    under Workbench 2.1 or higher.  Under Workbench versions
  50.    below 2.1 TrapFax will only run in English.
  51.  
  52. 4. There is a new program now included with TrapFax: TFaxJoin.
  53.    The manual doesn't mention it at all, so here is a quick
  54.    description for it:
  55.  
  56.          TFaxJoin is an utility for joining several faxes into
  57.       one multi-page fax.  From Workbench, simply shift-click
  58.       all the fax icons you wish to join into one fax, then
  59.       double-click TFaxJoin (while still holding down the shift
  60.       key).  The recipient editor window will open, allowing you
  61.       to select the destination for the newly created fax, just
  62.       as if you had used the printer driver to create the fax.

  64.       From the shell, the template for TFaxJoin is:

  66.          FILE/M/A,AS=TO/K
  67.  
  68.       FILE specifies all the IFF FAXX files that should be
  69.       joined into one single multipage fax.
  70.  
  71.       AS=TO specifies the output file.  If not given, a new
  72.       file will be created in the Outgoing directory, and
  73.       TFaxQueue will be called to allow you to select the
  74.       destination for the new fax.

  76. 5. TFaxDoor supports an additional "IMMEDIATE" option, which
  77.    was documented incorrectly in the manual. If you specify
  78.    this option, TFaxDoor will not wait for a call, but will
  79.    immediately tell the modem to answer the phone and take
  80.    an incoming fax call.
  81.  
  82.    This can be used to start an incoming fax transfer while
  83.    you are already on the phone.
  84.  
  85.    Hint: Make a copy of the icon 'TFaxAnswer' and add the
  86.    keyword "IMMEDIATE" to the tooltypes. If you doubleclick
  87.    this new Icon, fax receiption will be immediately started.

  89. 6. TrapFax 1.1 fixes a few minor problems in TrapFax 1.0.
  90.    There was an error in the installation program, which
  91.    would not always correctly install the German language
  92.    files under AmigaOS 2.1, and two small enforcer hits in
  93.    TFaxDoor and TFaxSpool have been fixed.

  95. 7. There's a minor problem with TFaxView: if you select a
  96.    part of your fax and scroll the selected area completely
  97.    off the screen, your Amiga may crash.  This bug will be
  98.    fixed in the next release.

  100. 8. TrapFax may not be used in military installations, or in
  101.    any other area where failure of the software might cause
  102.    danger to human life (such as medical institutions,
  103.    hospitals etc.)
