  9. Q&A v4.0 is compatible with LANtastic NOS version 4.xx.

  11. Product Overview
  12. Q&A is a network ready database and word processor (Q&A Write) that can be 
  13. used with LANtastic NOS.  It supports all common database functions and is 
  14. able to convert data from other databases (dBASE, Paradox, and others) and 
  15. documents from other word processors (WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, etc.).  It is 
  16. generally easy to use and includes several business oriented pre-defined 
  17. databases as optional installation items.

  19. Test Equipment Configuration
  20. The following machines were used for Q&A testing.  All machines use Artisoft 
  21. AE-2 NICs.  Testing was completed using LANtastic NOS v4.0 with 
  22. AILANBIO.EXE and AE2.EXE v2.03.  Machines running as LANtastic peer 
  23. servers are designated by (S).

  30. Product Installation Notes
  31. Installation of Q&A on a network server is easily achieved via the program 
  32. provided by Symantec.  After the basic software is installed, installation of a 
  33. Q&A LAN Pack is required to enable LAN operation and allow multiple users to 
  34. execute Q&A simultaneously.  Once it is completely installed on the server, all 
  35. that is required is for the users to log in to that server, redirect an 
  36. available drive, change to the Q&A directory on that drive, and start the 
  37. program by typing QA at the DOS prompt.  If installation has been correctly 
  38. completed, the message "There are X current users out of Y permitted by your 
  39. license" will appear toward the bottom of the initial menu screen (X and Y will 
  40. vary according to the number of users currently in Q&A and how many users the 
  41. LAN installation supports, respectively).
