- Greetings! You are now the proud owner of a registered and customized copy
- of SkyGlobe 3.0. This represents a major revision of SkyGlobe from V2.5,
- with virtually the entire program being completely rewritten. Besides all
- the improvements currently present, it will now be easier to continually
- upgrade SkyGlobe. Since SKYGLOBE.EXE is now a completely self-contained
- working program, it will be easier to pass SkyGlobe around to your friends
- and relatives, and I encourage you to do so. Thank you for registering
- your copy of SkyGlobe, and I hope you enjoy the new version!

- Here are some of the changes in SkyGlobe 3.0:
-
- Planetary positions are now calculated, instead of using tables. This is
- somewhat slower and less accurate than the old version, but it is much more
- flexible, since the data files are no longer necessary. The speed and
- accuracy of the positions will continue to be improved, with the ability
- to toggle between faster or more accurate algorithms.
-
- The mouse is now supported for object identification, and for quickly
- changing the viewing direction and elevation by pressing the button.
-
- The Milky Way display is greatly enhanced, with the addition of a two-toned
- region fill, as well as much more detailed outlines.
-
- SuperVGA 800x600x16 graphics is now supported. (Use SKYGLOBE S or SKYGLOBE S2.)
-
- VGA and SVGA modes now make much better use of color. Colors can be brightened
- or dimmed by the user.
-
- Many more RA-Dec lines can now be displayed.
-
- Time, Date, Zooms, and directions are now more accurate, with more choices.
-
- A new projection is now available, which flattens out the SkyGlobe, and
- displays shapes near the edge more accurately. The old projection is still
- supported through the use of the 'I' command.
