- Motorola Unveils New Secure Fax Machine
-
- Scottsdale, Ariz. - Motorola Secure Telecommunications unveiled the SECTEL MFAX
- 5000, the world's first integrated personal security fax machine. The MFAX 5000
- attches to any SECTEL Secure telephone giving the user "conventional" as well as
- "secure" voice and fax capabilities from one compact unit.
-
- The MFAX 5000 is a new addition to the SECTEL line of security telephone
- systems. A SECTEL security telephone can be used in place of any standard
- telephone to give the user total privacy.
-
- "The MFAX 5000 is beautifully efficient, giving users Pentagon-like fax security
- from their desks," said Don Rothwell, Vice President and Manager of Motorola's
- Secure Telecommunications Business Unit. "Current technology has placed all
- conventional phone, fax and computer transmissions at risk. Proprietary
- information most often targeted by electronic thieves includes legal, financial,
- research and development, expansion and marketing data. The MFAX 5000 fits onto
- the back of any SECTEL we make, giving users voice and fax security in one small
- unit." Rothwell is also upbeat about the secure telecommunications market. "We
- estimate the commercial secure telecommunication market to be worth over 20
- billion dollars," he said.
-
- The MFAX 5000 authenticates each caller in the secure fax mode. It offers
- unattended operation, receiving clear and secure facsimiles in your absence and
- provides electronic storage capability for easy retrieval.
-
- The versatile MFAX 5000 transmits in black, white and 16 shades of grey.
-
