  2. peripherals, announced today that it is shipping Tefax System Model
  3. RA-2125 with AutoFax facsimile software compatible with Apple Macintosh
  4. computers running System 7.0.

  6. The Tefax System Model RA-2125 facilitates the transmission, manipulation
  7. and reception of documents through Macintosh as well as IBM PC/AT or
  8. compatibles. The Tefax System combines five integrated functions:
  9. facsimile, graphics scanner, line printer, fax modem and computer
  10. interface utilizing built-in copier, scan mechanism, thermal print head
  11. and electronics.

  13. Janson Wu, Relisys' vice president and chief operating officer, said,
  14. "Relisys is committed to keeping its products compatible with all new
  15. upgrades to the Macintosh line. Like the Macintosh, Tefax and AutoFax are
  16. extremely easy to use and provide the features of a sophisticated
  17. computer/fax system at a price the home office or small business can
  18. afford. This system provides the most complete communications capabilities
  19. ever encountered with the Mac and a free-standing integrated facsimile
  20. machine combination."

  22. The Tefax System provides high-speed, high-resolution and 16-level
  23. half-tone document image scanning, computer editing, printing, copying,
  24. transmission and reception of text, half-tone images and graphics. It can
  25. also be used for local printing, copying and scanning as well as facing to
  26. any Group II or m fax machine.

  28. AutoFax was developed by Jacent Information Systems, Inc. exclusively for
  29. Relisys. The application allows users to view faxes from the transmit and
  30. receive queues at any time. Incoming faxes can be automatically routed to
  31. a laser or dot matrix printer to produce plain-paper fax copies, or to the
  32. Tefax thermal printer.

  34. Image capture capabilities are also included, which allow users to capture
  35. faxed images, store the images as fax files and/or convert the images to
  36. TIFF, PCX, BMP or MSP files for import into a program such as PageMaker or
  37. Ventura Publisher. Users can delete, copy or paste portions of a faxed
  38. image and rotate a received fax image that has been transmitted
  39. horizontally. Manipulated images can also be saved and retrieved as
  40. graphics or fax formatted files.

  42. The application also includes scheduling and phone book functions. The
  43. scheduling function maintains a list of documents waiting to be faxed,
  44. transparently monitors received faxes, automatically sends unsent pages
  45. and redials if the transmission has failed. The phone book data file has a
  46. capacity of thousands of individual entries and supports hierarchical
  47. groups of entries which can be built containing any or all of the
  48. individual entries. Documents can be automatically transmitted to multiple
  49. groups and destinations at programmed time.

  51. AutoFax appears to all applications (PageMaker, Excel, Designer as a
  52. standard printer device. It takes advantage of Windows font capabilities
  53. like Adobe Type Manager and Bitstream's Fontware, allowing users to
  54. generate fonts for both standard and fine fax resolutions for use with
  55. AutoFax. The driver supports both standard (200 x 100dpi) and fine (200 x
  56. 200dpi) resolutions in both portrait and landscape output orientations.
  57. The printer driver can also automatically send cover messages, headers and
  58. footers with each fax transmission.

  60. Relisys' Model RA-2125 Tefax features a 16-character by two-line LCD status
  61. display that displays functions for easy setup and a sophisticated dialing
  62. system with many automatic dialing features such as one-touch, abbreviated
  63. and delayed dialing; automatic or manual redial, polling and sequential
  64. polling and a 100-number phone directory.

  66. The Tefax RA-2125 with AutoFax software is compatible with the Apple
  67. Macintosh computers running System 6.0 or 7.0 and equipped with an RS 232
  68. interface. The Tefax includes a limited one-year warranty and will be
  69. available immediately at a suggested list price of $1295.00.
