Transcription: Mudbrick houses. Generally, houses had only one story and three rooms. Some houses had two stories. Families lived together, sometimes even after the children were married. Most ancient Egyptian houses were made out of mudbrick. Houses had stairs up to the roof. The roof was used for storage and as a place to work or to sit in the cool evening breeze. Mudbricks were stacked on top of each other Mud bricks were easy to make. Bottomless boxes were used as molds for the bricks. Mud was packed into the mold. The mold was lifted away and the brick dried in the sun.
