  8. "A Better Way To Find Graphics On The Internet!"

  10. Internet Graphics Finder (GRIF) is a 32-bit Windows application 
  11. that provides a better way to find graphics on the Internet. 
  12. It can also view, print and save pictures from the Internet.  
  13. Multiple image thumbnails are viewed at one time in the GRIF Gallery. 
  14. GRIF supports image file formats JPG, GIF (animated) and BMP.  
  15.  
  16. Image Search Options Include:
  17.  
  18.   1) Keyword Search - Enter a keyword and search the Lycos or Yahoo
  19.          image archives for the exact picture you need.
  20.  
  21.   2) Predefined Image Categories - Display the pictures contained on
  22.          the best graphics web sites we've found.  All predefined sites 
  23.          offer public domain images!!
  24.  
  25.   3) Extracts Images From any Entered Web Address - Enter any URL
  26.          from your favorite graphics web site and GRIF will download 
  27.          and display the image in the GRIF Gallery.  (NOTE: Please 
  28.          respect the use of images that are not in the public domain.)

  30. INTERNET PROVIDER REQUIRED
  31. You must have and be signed on to an ISP (Internet Service Provider)
  32. before you can run Internet Graphics Finder.  America Online, Prodigy, 
  33. CompuServe and other online services will also work as Internet 
  34. providers as long as you log into their service first.

  36. PARENTAL DISCRETION WARNING
  37. Internet Graphics Finder does not contain any Parental Discretion 
  38. controls at this time.  It will not filter offensive images from 
  39. being displayed and downloaded.  Use this program at your own 
  40. discretion.

  42. IMAGE COPYWRITE VIOLATION
  43. The search and pre-set scan sites used by Internet Graphics Finder use
  44. web pages that contain Public Domain images.  The public domain status
  45. could change at any time.  When you save a web image make sure you can 
  46. legally use the image before doing so.

  49. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

  51.  * Microsoft 32-bit OS - Windows '95, '98 or Windows NT 
  52.  * A hard disk with approximately 4 Meg of hard disk space
  53.  * Pentium 60 or higher CPU recommended
  54.  * A minimum of 8 Meg of RAM; 16 Meg or more recommended
  55.  * Internet Access Provider and a connection to the Internet
  56.  
  57. INSTALLING GRIF:

  59. If you received one install file:
  60.  
  61.   1) Run GRIF##.EXE (self extracting file) or GRIF##.ZIP 
  62.      (PKZIPed file) from Windows START to start the install.  
  63.  
  64. If you received 2 installation disks:
  65.  
  66.   2) Run GRIF##.EXE from disk 1 to start the install.  If running
  67.      from your hard drive, make sure all installation files
  68.      (GRIF##.EXE, GRIF##.W02) are in the same directory.

  107. The OCX controls should be registered during Graphics
  108. Discovery installation.  If you experience any problems 
  109. registering the LTOCX80N.OCX or IMGSRCH13.OCX controls, 
  110. first try unregistering and re-registering the control, 
  111. as shown below using the Windows Start - Run option:
  112.  
  113. REGSVR32 /U <filename>.OCX
  114. REGSVR32 <filename>.OCX
  115.  
  116. If you experience an error running the program after installation,
  117. here are some other files that may need to be re-registered using
  118. REGSVR32.EXE after installing GRIF:
  119. OLEAUT32.DLL
  120. OLEPRO32.DLL
  121.     
  122. GRIF was written with Visual Basic Ver 5.0 which requires a 
  123. runtime DLL called: MSVBVM50.DLL.  This should be installed 
  124. during GRIF installation.  If not, you can downloaded it from 
  125. most online services and from Microsoft's web site on the Internet.

  138. To uninstall Internet Graphics Finder, use the Add/Remove Software Wizard 
  139. on the Windows '95 Control Panel or run the UNWISE.EXE program in 
  140. your GRIF directory.

  143. GETTING STARTED:
  144.  
  145. To begin using Internet Graphics Finder, click on the Internet 
  146. Graphics Finder icon in Program STARTUP or double click on 
  147. Internet Graphics Finder in Windows Explorer.  Enter a search value
  148. of the type of image you are looking for (ie Cat) and click the GO
  149. toolbar button.  This should return a list of found images and the
  150. thumbnails should arrive shortly after that.

  152. HTML coding comes is many forms.  GRIF tries to extract as many
  153. image links as possible from the HTML pages, but can still miss
  154. some image links if the HTML tag is coded in a way GRIF cannot 
  155. recognize.  If you find an HTML page that GRIF misses the image
  156. links or have a favorite Graphics Page you want to the GRIF
