  1.   The File Conversion Window is used to convert sound data files stored by
  2. other music software manufacturers to the Sound Quest file format. 
  3. To create a conversion from scratch is a two part process and once the
  4. conversion has been created it can be saved to disk for later use.

  6. To make the conversion, select open from the 'Files' menu and select the
  7. conversion file to be used. The conversion file should load the Sound Quest
  8. driver along with a macro which performs the actual conversion. Once this
  9. information is loaded, select 'Convert a File' to select a single file to
  10. convert. The converted file will be stored under the same name with a '.SQ'
  11. extension. If an entire directory contains the identical type of file and
  12. you wish to convert all of the files in the directory, the
  13. 'Convert a Directory' option can be chosen.

  15.   To create your own conversion file (for those of you who really have it
  16. together!), load the Sound Quest driver supporting type of data to be
  17. converted into the File Conversion Window. Use either 'Load Driver from Disk'
  18. or 'Load Driver from List' to load the currently selected driver in the Driver
  19. List Window. Next, Enter a macro which will load the old file as a Sound
  20. Quest file. Important relevant Macro commands are 'DR n m' (Disk Read) and
  21. 'DS n' (Disk Seek). Finally, an old data file can be loaded into a SysX View
  22. Window for analysis in creating the conversion macro. While possible, this
  23. file should NOT be saved as a SQ data file.
