  11.      scientists, science educators and college or high school students.
  12. *  COMPUTERIZED PERIODIC TABLE AND ELEMENT INFORMATION DATABASE:  Over 50
  13.      items of information on each of the elements.
  14. *  FLASH-CARD LEARNING MODE:  Helps the student study the periodic table.
  15. *  CUSTOMIZEABLE TEXT VIEWER:  Allows the user to include additional
  16.      information for easy access.
  17. *  UNITS CONVERSION CALCULATOR:  Over 450 units of measure in 30
  18.      categories.  Enter a value and instantly convert it to any of the
  19.      corresponding units.
  20. *  CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS CALCULATOR:  A tool with which to manipulate the
  21.      parameters of a chemical solution and perform "what if" planning
  22.      prior to solution preparation.
  23. *  MOLECULAR WEIGHT CALCULATOR:  Enter any chemical formula and calculate
  24.      its molecular weight without having to look up the information in
  25.      printed tables.

  27.      solvent for solution preparation
  28. *  DILUTION CALCULATOR: Eliminates mistakes when calculating and performing
  29.      dilutions.

  31. The Integral Scientist is a hypertext style information utility for
  32. scientists, science educators and students. It includes a periodic table and
  33. element information database with over 50 items of information on each of the
  34. elements.  There is even a flash-card mode to help the student study the
  35. periodic table. A customizeable text viewer allows the user to include
  36. additional information for easy access.

  38. For the laboratory, The Integral Scientist provides the chemist with a tool
  39. with which to manipulate the parameters of a chemical solution and perform
  40. "what if" planning prior to solution preparation.  A solvent selector provides
  41. important data for choosing the correct solution solvent and a dilution
  42. calculator eliminates mistakes when performing dilutions.  The user may also
  43. enter any chemical formula and calculate its molecular weight without having
  44. to look up the information in printed tables.

  46. Included in The Integral Scientist is a Units Conversion Calculator with over
  47. 450 units of measure in 30 categories.  A unit value may be easily converted
  48. to any of the corresponding units.  Input and output values may be transposed
  49. and the current input value may be scaled. The user can determine if the
  50. conversion is exact or approximate and can view the complete list of
  51. conversion factors at the press of a key.  Category definitions are displayed
  52. when selecting the units category and the category of measure can be found
  53. easily by looking up an unfamiliar unit in the index.

  55. Throughout The Integral Scientist, instant help is available.  Context
  56. sensitive help windows and full-screen help are one key away and the entire
  57. user's guide is available on-line and will open to the proper chapter at the
  58. press of a key.  There is even a "map" so you won't get lost!  Science has
  59. never been so much fun, but the information is serious.

  65. Installing this program:

  67.   Place the distribution disk in a floppy drive.
  68.                   or
  69.   Copy the distribution files into an empty subdirectory
  70.  
  71.   Change to the drive or subdirectory containing the Integral Scientist files.
  72.   Type GO-ISE

  75. If for some reason the above installation technique should fail, try the
  76. following method:

  78.   For hard disk systems
  79.  
  80.     Copy all files into a subdirectory
  81.     Type _ISEA then respond Y to the query.
  82.     Repeat for _ISEB
  83.     (_ISEA.exe and _ISEB.exe can then be removed)

  87.     Insert this disk in drive A: and a blank formatted disk in drive B:
  88.     Copy all files except _ISEA.exe and _ISEB.exe to B:
  89.     Type _ISEA B:  and respond to the query with Y.
