- yes. I have heard it called an oct[ou]thorp (sometimes with a trailing
- 'e') as well. I have also seen it called this in a book in the
- linguistics section of our local Dillons. The book was about linguistic
- symbols, and I wish I'd bought it when I had the chance, cos it ain't
- there now!!!
