  12. It is all very simple, and I owe this flash of revelation
  13. to an Australian correspondent whose name alas I have
  14. forgotten. He mentioned to me that, according to some
  15. aboriginal legends, the platypus was the result of the
  16. rape of a duck by a rat. So there you are. The Kiwi
  17. is a cross of a midget with an emu. The emu itself
  18. is the result of the rape of a dungheap by a pair
  19. of stilts. The dungheap was produced by some of the animals
  20. on the Ark, and the stilts were used by Noah and
  21. family helpers to move about without sullying their
  22. feet in all that manure.

  25. the maximum amount with the barest minimum. Just
  26. two stilts and a heap of shit! Why, Ockham's razor
  27. at its best.
