  26. As far back as I remember, Lionel has never claimed to be unable to
  27. explain anything.  The Bible has the answers to everything.  Ask him.

  30. Now there are probably other Christians much more humble than Lionel
  31. who would claim that it is not possible to explain every circumstance
  32. or every event in the Bible.  This is perfectly acceptable.  All it
  33. means is that the Bible is not complete.  Unfortunately, the Bible is
  34. not a changing, growing entity like evolutionary theory is.  So, while
  35. evolutionary theory is far from complete, it certainly has the ability
  36. to approach completeness.  The ultimate yielding to explanation that
  37. Dawkins was getting at is a result of evolution's (and science's)
  38. ability to adapt, grow, take new evidence into account, and adapt
  39. again.  Fundamental Christianity is immutable, fixed in granite,
  40. unswaying in its conclusions.  That is why creationism will never grow
  41. as a science and why it will continually be falsified as new evidence
  42. and new theories are established.

  44. Thus, when Biblical literalists are unable to explain something, we
  45. are free to draw the conclusion that such an explanation will not be
  46. forthcoming in the near or distant future.  After all, the Bible does
  47. not grow, nor does supernatural evidence arise every day.  Dawkins'
  48. claim is peculiar to naturalistic science.
