  23. So true, especially of engineers.  I can't tell you how many times I've
  24. complained of the maddening high-pitched whine from a terminal or monitor,
  25. and been met with the blank query "What high-pitched noise?"  
  26.  
  27. Presumably if they ever had any high-end hearing at all, it had been
  28. eliminated by years of working with noisy defective equipment.  I bet X is
  29. behind it.
