- To be consistent we'd better insist that any public funding for abortions

- Perhaps you realize that we could no more afford to send *everyone* to a
- "good" private school (without raising taxes) than we could afford to provide
- better public schools than we now do. Making a child's educational
- opportunity strongly dependant upon their *parents'* finnancial situation
- would destroy the whole *point* of public education and perpetuate the cycle
- of poverty. (See an earlier response of mine for a longer explanation of why
- this would occur.)
