  45. Yup.  It's not supported by the Bible.  It's recognized that it was
  46. a part of that culture, and the New Testament includes sections that
  47. tell slaves that they have the best chance of persuading their
  48. masters by behaving in a loving manner.  (Keep in mind that slaves
  49. under Roman law had more freedom and rights than they did under
  50. American law -- even more than "citizens" did under Soviet law.)
