- Yup. It's not supported by the Bible. It's recognized that it was
- a part of that culture, and the New Testament includes sections that
- tell slaves that they have the best chance of persuading their
- masters by behaving in a loving manner. (Keep in mind that slaves
- under Roman law had more freedom and rights than they did under
- American law -- even more than "citizens" did under Soviet law.)
