- I think the issue of gays in the military is now a Constitutional Issue.
- With the military voicing strong objection, the President does not
- have any other option now but to issue the order. The office of
- the Presidency as Commander-in-Chief vs the Joint Chiefs is now the
- issue. Who now rules the military, the President or the Generals?
- If the military can tell the President (the people) what to do or what
- not to do, then we are all in danger.
-
- If any officer cannot in good conscience comply with the directive,
- then he should resign, it is their duty to resign.
-
- I hope the directive gets issued immediately. Not because I think its
- a good idea, but because the military has hinted at threats. The tremendous
- power that we Americans have permitted to be created must remain under
- the uncontested authority and control of the President.
