  13. I have to agree with the original poster on all points and I would like to 
  14. add a few observations of my own.

  16. The whole issue looks like what happened when the military was ordered to
  17. intergrate Black soldiers into all white units. There were cries of "loss of
  18. moral", "loss of effectiveness", "unknown consequences", etc. It is a fact
  19. that homosexual soldiers have served in every army of every nation since the
  20. beginning of recorded history(and further back). These soldiers have fought
  21. and died along side their comrades for all of the reasons that a man or
  22. woman decides to serve in the military.

  24. I admit to being strongly homophobic in my youth and even when I was in 
  25. the Marine Corps but I think I have grown up a little since then.
