- I have to agree with the original poster on all points and I would like to
- add a few observations of my own.

- The whole issue looks like what happened when the military was ordered to
- intergrate Black soldiers into all white units. There were cries of "loss of
- moral", "loss of effectiveness", "unknown consequences", etc. It is a fact
- that homosexual soldiers have served in every army of every nation since the
- beginning of recorded history(and further back). These soldiers have fought
- and died along side their comrades for all of the reasons that a man or
- woman decides to serve in the military.

- I admit to being strongly homophobic in my youth and even when I was in
- the Marine Corps but I think I have grown up a little since then.
