- More on Franklin, from Encyclopedia Brittanica:
-
- Surprisingly, the encyclopedia had *very* little to say on the subject.
- There was no listing for the state of Franklin, and nothing about in the
- history of Tennessee. I finally found out a meager amount by looking up John
- Sevier (the "governor" of the state of Franklin).
-
- The state of Franklin existed from 1784 to 1788. Eventually, it dissolved
- itself and became part of the new state of Tennessee (in 1792?). That's
- basically all I could find.
