- Greetings,
- I am a new member of this list. The names which I hope to search include the
- following: All began in New Orleans-Gretna area.
- Maternal side: Evans (via Kentucky (Bromley, Covington); Ohio (Hillsboro);
- Gretna & New Orleans) earliest known are Samuel and Hugh Evans. Hugh was a
- revolutionary soldier. What we really want to know is which part of Wales
- this branch of the Evans family may have hailed from); Dr. Sommerville of
- Louisville
- Also on mother's side: Witzman, Durand (Paris), Doss (Ky? Ohio?),
- LaPayrone (LaPeyrone?)
- Paternal: Hotard (I'm told all the Hotards in America are related; before
- the U.S., it was probably Otard, maybe Autard?)
- Also paternal: de Gruy, Herzog, Gertner (sp?), Rosevalley (sp?),
- Ganzano (s?) (he was a ship's captain when
- GG Gerner fell in love with him on the passage over.
- I'm totally new to this genealogy searching, so please bear with me.
- Renee Hotard Bennett (BennettRH@Sluvca.Slu.Edu)
