  30.   When did your grandfather retire from the railroad? I wrote to the Railroad
  31. Retirement Board requesting information concerning my grandfather who had
  32. retired in 1938. I did not have his Social Security number but did have a
  33. claim number from 1938 correspondence that I had. The response that I received
  34. said, in part:

  36.      The Railroad Retirement Board's records show that the retirement claim
  37.      folder established for Frederick G. Maloney was transferred to a
  38.      Federal Records Center in 1965 and subsequently destroyed in
  39.      accordance with Federal record retention schedules.

  41.   What I want is my grandfather's Social Security number. It appears that I
  42. did not ask the right question in my request.
