  32. First, this is a world-wide group, and if anyone has the ability
  33. to send Email to the ROOTS-L Mailing List they are welcome.
  34.  
  35. We do not limit access to anyone / anywhere.  Anyone may SUB to
  36. this list or SIGNOFF as they wish.
  37.  
  38. About 4 years ago it was requested that users limit the size of
  39. ROOTS-L mailing list message to about 10-15,000 bytes.
  40. Of course most of them are only about 1/2 page.
  41.  
  42. This upper limit seems to be about the right size, and most readers
  43. do concur.  If you later get a match of a surname, you may send
  44. DIRECT email to that person.
  45.  
  46. All the questions, comments, letters, and requests which have ever
  47. been on ROOTS-L are still available for search and research to those
  48. who want to send a 'request message'.
  49.  
  50. The GENEALOG area has about 6megs of files now, all in ASCII, and
  51. one of them tells how to do these kinds of search for information and
  52. or surnames of interest.

  54. Those interested may request the GENEALOG file:  srchfile  by sending
  55. the following line to:  listserv@vm1.nodak.edu
