- In the USA, CP's applying for Aid to Families with Dependent Children
- (welfare for you non-politically-correct folks :) ) must disclose the
- names of the assumed NCP's of the child(ren) or face a sanction for
- "non-cooperation". The sanction is the reduction of the welfare grant
- by approximately 1/3. Waivers are granted for "good cause", such as
- molestation accusations and the like.

- There is a carrot as well as a stick. If an order is entered against
- the NCP and the NCP pays, the grant is increased by up to $50/month.
- (That's total, not $50 per child).
