- At Northwestern, the campus bar's official title (I believe) was The
- Gathering Place, although everyone knew it simply as The Bar. The Bar closed
- down last year due to too many underage students getting in and rapidly
- declining attendance, so yes, I would venture to say that a campus bar is not
- such a social centre (unless it doesn't card). There are, however, certain
- off-campus bars that are considered to be hot spots. I think there is somewhat
- of a contradiction in a campus-sponsored bar where the majority of students
- are underage, and that is why off-campus joints seem to be livelier. I'd like
- to hear what anyone else has to say about this.
