  11. Well, I've been in soc.bi for a while and I think it's time to 
  12. gracefully bow out for an extended leave -- I still have my 
  13. cliveg@cix.co.uk account if anyone wants to contact me and indeed I 
  14. may be back in the near future, but I've been downloading masses of 
  15. news messages every day for the past three months and just not 
  16. reading them. So I guess it's time to have a breather.

  18. Thanks to all the people I've met via this group but I feel it's 
  19. really time to move on for two reasons:

  21. 1: I get frustrated at the what seems like the same old questions 
  22. being asked -- this is an important service and I'm not attacking 
  23. soc.bi, it answers many questions asked by old hands and newbies 
  24. alike and I want to see this service continue and I will continue to 
  25. publicize and support it wherever possible -- but for a while now it 
  26. seems to me to have just gone around in circles... perhaps this is 
  27. the limitations of a Usenet newsgroup -- perhaps it's *my* 
  28. limitations as a reader. I dunno. I've got lots of other things to 
  29. do. I will rejoin when I've had a break.

  31. 2: (more importantly) I get frustrated at the *amount* of stuff here 
  32. I'm just not interested in. I now have to pay for online time and 
  33. download time. More importantly I feel that the signal-to-noise ratio 
  34. is too high (note this is a personal feeling).

  36. I've decided to start the ball rolling about officially changing my 
  37. name. I'm also "out" as abused and will continue to write about 
  38. Bisexual issues regarding sexual abuse, I will still make a noise and 
  39. kick up seven kinds of hell when I think survivors (especially 
  40. bisexual ones) are being marginalized and I will still shout about 
  41. all those issues and be a pest even in soc.bi -- so if people start 
  42. writing about "sexual abuse" then a wee message *should* tell me and 
  43. I'll be leaping into the fray. Pests R Us. :) :) :) :) (Hmmmm, I say 
  44. "should" because this *is* UNIX we're talking about here).

  46. It's been fun. I don't suppose my life as a rabid and "out" Bisexual 
  47. will end as I've got friends in Bristol, Cambridge and many, many 
  48. friends in Edinburgh where I hope to eventually live -- and I'll 
  49. continue to be part of the Edinburgh Bi scene -- as soon as I get my 
  50. life as a freelance writer up to speed and my book out of the door ( 
  51. to those of you who know about the book -- yes it's still "getting 
  52. there"). Keep in contact via E-mail if you want to... and I'll see 
  53. you at all the best parties [hint].
