  13. I'm not sure what to make of this one -- the story got told over lunch
  14. today by the central figure, the friend of mine responsible for "The
  15. Banana Song (part 1)" (he's working on part 2, and "Yellow Banana Blues"
  16. at the moment....)

  18. Anyway, Friday was the birthday of a gay friend of his and, at some
  19. point in the evening the two of them wound up snogging (his word)
  20. and were seen to be doing so by a number of people.  Including his
  21. ex-girlfriend.  Now, their college is quite small, and has a very
  22. efficient gossip circle, which she is informing of this event.  He
  23. expects the gossipists to be "very confused" by all this (now you
  24. see what I mean by invisibility, I hope).  (My name also got mentioned
  25. in the context of someone else I know there making some comment,
  26. but I missed that part of the story (it came out in fragments, and
  27. roughly in reverse order).)

  29. Quite what this says about the assumptions of the gossipers, his
  30. ex- in particular, and what it has to do withhis sexuality, I really
  31. don't know....
