- Actually we are here at the EEE dept working on a 'Dataglove', And I
- have defined the differents movment possible with our Finguers
- (including the Thumb ) and the Wrist. But I didnt find any literature
- in the same topic except book of anatomy and human physiology, does
- anybody work on the 'Glove'. So we can check if my work is correct.
-
- Movments I defined:
-
- For all the finguer (except the Thumb):
- Flexion through the 3 articulations
- rotation through the 1st articulation
- The thumb :
- Flexion through the 3 articulation
- Rotation in 2 planes
- Wrist :
- Flexion
- Rotation through two planes
-
-
- I have defined also three kind of Control points in MyHand
- The ControlPoints (we need their coordinates )
- The Flexion points (For hand gesture)
- The reotation/flexion points ( For hand gesture)
- and the HotPoints ( For Hand interfacing with Virtuals Objects)
-
- Here's MyHand:

-
- So does anybody work on this topic as we may share what we know
- I forgot to tell you that the goal is to drive it with an
- interface we're building it here at the EEE dept of the Sheffield
- University.
- Before, should you notice that LLittlePt1 is located at 1 and
- LLittlePt2 is located as 2, and the following is a bout a flexion.
-
- The other goal is to try to use the electrical signals from the
- muscules (when they are activated) drive the hand (this is a second
- experience for a long term work ) . Says for example if the muscle in
- the section LLittlePt1-LLittlePt2 is activated, that's means we have
- to apply to all the finguer at the point LLittlePt1 a rotation (says
- about 5 degree each time (we've to train our hand to this kind of
- things), do you see where I am going??? .
-
- So, all comments and help is welcome.

- Virtualy,
- Bens.
-
- I will send later another e-mail about an application to
- Architecture, I've call Project ICARUS (Interface for Computer
- aided ARchitectural design Using virtual Spacework)
- Which is my project here at the School of architectural studies of
- the University of Sheffield
-
- ps: For more info, just send me your e-mail address.
