- I have found three effective techniques (in order of practicality
- and usefulness):
- 1. Put notes on your wall, refrigerator, bathroom mirror, etc.
- telling yourself what you want to do.
- 2. Self-hypnosis
- 3. Have friends remind you whenever you slip up.
-
- And two ineffective techniques (for me -- I know people for whom
- these approaches have worked quite well)
- 1. Will-power (ie. constantly monitering and correcting behaviour)
- 2. Self-imposed reward & punishment behaviour modification techniques.
- 3. Have friends tease you whenever you slip up.
