- At the risk of turning this into an alt.religion discussion (dons
- flameproof gear) I would like to say that Jesus didn't think of Himself
- as one of a series of "Masters". Why? Look at what He said:
-
- John 8:58 -- "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was
- born, I Am!" (I Am: Yahweh -- I have existed eternally)
-
- John 14:6 -- Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
- No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really knew Me,
- you would know My Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have
- seen Him."
-
- Isaiah says in chapter 43 that God is the only God; there was none
- before Him and there will be none after Him. You even specifically
- dismissed John 3:16. You can't take the other, convenient parts of the
- Bible and reject the rest. It's all one truth. For those of you who think
- it's either completely false or just corrupted, look again. I did; there's
- one truth, established by God, that tells of our future beyond this world,
- and whether you want to believe in it or not, God will judge you just the
- same. If you want to know the truth, talk to Him...it's called praying.
