- Hi,
- I would appreciate hearing from university graduate students and faculty in any
- of the following related fields,
- * physics
- * applied physics
- * electrical/electronic engineering
- regarding preparation for PhD program qualifying examinations.
- Specifically:
- (1) Does your university have a recommended study list of topics
- or a syllabus, and what are its contents?
- (2) How about a recommended book list?
- (3) Finally, how much time should the "typical" MS level student at your
- institution expect to study such review material in addition to study/work
- duties? (e.g. 1 quarter - 1 year supplementary study)
- Please email or post replies.
-
- Thanks and cheers!
