- I'm building something and have some magnetism related questions. Sorry
- if this is the wrong place, but I couldn't think of anything better.
-
- The part I'm thinking about is a thin (4mm) piece of wood. One side will
- have a sheet of metal attached to it, preferably only 1 or 2mm thick.
- On the other side, I want to be able to place small cylindrical magnets
- (preferably about 5mm in diameter) against the wood and have them stay
- there upside down and while shaken. The stronger, the better.
-
- Are some metals better at attracting magnets than others? What kinds
- of magnets are stronger than others? Where would I get them?
-
- Please feel free to mention anything, even if it's expensive. It's
- always interesting to learn something new. Can I buy any room temperature
- superconducting magnets yet? :)
